Serving Our Community and Inspiring Young People

At Rotary King’s Lynn Priory and Satellite, our focus is simple: supporting our local community and creating opportunities for young people to thrive.

Everything we do is rooted here in West Norfolk — practical, visible and hands-on.

Supporting Our Community

Some projects bring people together.

Some raise vital funds.

Some simply create moments of connection that matter more than we realise.

Each year we raise significant funds for local charities through events such as the Rotary Swimarathon, the Sandringham Easter Egg Trail and Firewalk to Fundraise!, as well as supporting major events like GEAR and Run Sandringham.

But community isn’t only about fundraising. Our annual Harvest Lunch welcomes around 100 elderly residents — many of whom have limited opportunities to go out — for a traditional meal, entertainment and conversation. For some, it’s a rare chance to share laughter and company.

We also make regular donations to local charities working directly on the ground, helping ensure support reaches those who need it most.

For many members, this is where belonging begins — rolling up sleeves, working together and seeing the impact first-hand.

Inspiring Young People

We believe in investing in the next generation — not just financially, but with time, encouragement and opportunity.

Through our Youth Service work we support initiatives that build confidence, curiosity and life skills.

Dictionaries for Life ensures Year 4 pupils across King’s Lynn receive their own dictionary, encouraging literacy and a love of learning.

The Technology Tournament challenges secondary school students to work in teams, solving practical problems under time pressure — developing teamwork, creativity and resilience. Members also mentor students at King’s Lynn Academy, offering guidance and encouragement during important school years.

We sponsor young people to attend Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA), a residential leadership programme at Grafham Water designed to build confidence and teamwork skills that last well beyond the week.

We work with schools on environmental projects such as tree planting in local communal areas.

And through Crucial Crew, primary pupils learn essential safety skills that stay with them for life.

These projects are often simple in concept — but powerful in effect.

Where You Fit In

Some members prefer organising events.
Some mentor.
Some help on the day.
Some simply support behind the scenes.

There’s no single way to contribute — and no expectation to do everything.

What matters is being part of something that strengthens our community and encourages the next generation.

Come and See for Yourself

If supporting your local community and inspiring young people resonates with you, the best next step is simply to come along and meet us.

Have a coffee. Visit a meeting. See how it feels.

You might find it’s exactly what you’ve been looking for.
