Priory Rotary Sponsor Call the Midwife Evening

Fans of the popular TV series Call the Midwife enjoyed a rare treat when an Evening with Stephen McGann, who plays Dr Turner, and his wife Heidi Thomas the series writer and creator, was held at the King’s Lynn Guildhall. This was a fundraiser for the King’s Lynn Night Shelter, and the event was sponsored by Lynn’s Priory Rotary.

Heidi and Stephen used slides to depict behind-the-scenes stories over the 14 years the series has been broadcast, and it was fascinating to hear the techniques they used in filming difficult births and the lengths they went to to ensure complete authenticity as times and fashions changed.

The venue was sold out, and following Priory Rotary sponsoring the Call the Midwife Evening, we are delighted to report that the event raised just almost £4,300 for the Night Shelter.
