New President Takes the Helm at King's Lynn Priory Rotary
Updated: Jul 26
The Rotary Club of King's Lynn Priory celebrated its annual President's Handover at King's Lynn Golf Club last Wednesday, as outgoing President Derek Stringer formally passed the chain of office to incoming President Peter Oddey.

The evening was an opportunity to reflect on another outstanding year for the Club, during which members raised more than £70,000 for local, national and international charities through a wide range of fundraising events and community projects.
In his farewell address, Derek thanked the Club for the support he had received throughout his presidency and paid tribute to fellow members and the Club Council for their commitment, enthusiasm and hard work.
Reflecting on the past year, Derek said, "It has been a privilege to serve as President of such a dedicated and caring group of people. Everything we have achieved has been through teamwork, and I am incredibly proud of what we have accomplished together."
Accepting the chain of office, Peter Oddey thanked Derek for his leadership and for steering the Club through another successful year.

Peter outlined his priorities for the coming year, placing particular emphasis on welcoming new members and continuing to strengthen the friendships and relationships that make Rotary such a rewarding organisation to be part of.
"I want to build on the excellent work that has already been done," said Peter. "By growing our membership and continuing to develop strong relationships within the Club and the wider community, we can achieve even more for the charities and causes we support."
The handover marked not only the end of a successful presidential year but also the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the Club as it continues its mission of Service Above Self.
