Peter Lauder hopes to return to the Invictus Games with Team UK in 2027
Updated: Sep 25
Satellite Rotarian Peter Lauder has set his sights on the Invictus Games once again, applying for the opportunity to represent Team UK at the Invictus Games Birmingham 2027.

Peter, a 23-year Royal Air Force veteran, served as an intelligence analyst during his military career, including deployments to Kosovo, Iraq and Afghanistan. Following his medical retirement from the RAF in 2020, adaptive sport became an important part of his journey.
At the 2025 Invictus Games in Vancouver-Whistler, Canada, Peter represented Team UK in wheelchair rugby, sitting volleyball and indoor rowing. One of the highlights was helping Team UK secure a fantastic silver medal in wheelchair rugby.
Following that experience, Peter is hoping to earn the opportunity to compete on the Invictus stage once again. He has applied for selection for Team UK for Birmingham 2027 and is currently attending training camps as he prepares and works towards the possibility of securing a place on the team.
Selection has not yet taken place, but everyone at King’s Lynn Priory Satellite Rotary Club will be firmly behind Peter as he continues his preparations.
Be part of Birmingham 2027
The Invictus Games Birmingham 2027 will take place from 10–17 July 2027, bringing wounded, injured and sick service personnel and veterans from around the world together through adaptive sport.
With the Games taking place here in the UK, there are also opportunities to get involved and experience this very special event.
Tickets will be available soon, and anyone interested in attending can register now for ticket updates and presale information:
The Games are also looking for volunteers to help make Birmingham 2027 happen. Volunteers will receive training and kit, be supported throughout their involvement and have the opportunity to experience some of the sporting action while playing their part in delivering the Games.

We wish Peter every success with his training and his bid to make Team UK for Birmingham 2027. Hopefully, we’ll have another exciting Invictus journey to follow next year!
