King’s Lynn Priory Rotary Supports Nepal Flood Disaster Relief
Following the devastating floods in Nepal, members of the King’s Lynn Priory Rotary Club and our local community have come together to provide vital support to families affected by the disaster.

An independent fundraising campaign led by Priory Rotarian John Harrison received an incredible response, raising enough money to purchase five ShelterBoxes, at a cost of £590 each.
That means an amazing £2,950 was raised, helping to provide essential emergency shelter and equipment for families who have lost their homes and possessions.
We would like to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated to John’s appeal. Every contribution, large or small, helped us reach the fantastic milestone of five ShelterBoxes and demonstrated once again just how generous our local community can be when people elsewhere are facing unimaginable circumstances.
Further support from King’s Lynn Priory Rotary
Alongside the independent ShelterBox appeal, members of King’s Lynn Priory Rotary also voted to donate a further £500 to the Rotary District campaign supporting the Nepal disaster relief effort.
Together, this represents £3,450 of support for the people of Nepal through the two fundraising initiatives.
Natural disasters can leave communities facing an enormous task of rebuilding homes and lives. Through Rotary’s international network and organisations such as ShelterBox, support raised here in West Norfolk can make a very real difference to people thousands of miles away.
We are enormously grateful to John for leading the ShelterBox campaign, to our members for supporting the additional donation and, most importantly, to every person who responded so generously to the appeal.
It is a wonderful example of what Rotary is all about – people coming together to take action and help communities when they need it most.
