For the third year running members of Priory Rotary Satellite in King’s Lynn have taken up the task of providing 50 Christmas Food Hampers for people needing to attend King’s Lynn Food Bank. The items were delivered last week in preparation for what is expected to be their busiest ever Christmas. The group were invited to a tour of the local food bank warehouse on the North Lynn Industrial Estate. Group member Rob Colwell who led the campaign this year said “we have been supporting the food bank for several years now, but this was my first visit to the warehouse. To be honest I was totally taken aback at the pure size of the main operation and the amount of food the centre processes for the residents of just King’s Lynn. I found it quite overwhelming. I’m so pleased we could be a small part of the Christmas campaign, and I know the group hopes we can make a difference for families this festive period.”

Member Mark Collins added “Please do give generously this year to the food bank and it’s so easy to do with collection points in all main supermarkets. The ‘Bank the Food’ App is easy to download and shows what food is most needed.”
Food bank Project Manager Helen Gilbert said "We really value the continued support given to us by Priory Rotary Satellite. This donation will make a big difference to people in our community and will take some of the pressure off the festivities knowing that they have some festive food items already put by. The people of King's Lynn and West Norfolk are so generous to the food bank and we really do appreciate every single donation which helps us to support those most in need in our communities."
Priory Rotary Satellite Delivers 50 Christmas Hampers and in addition, Priory Satellite have also donated £500 to the Night Shelter, who plan to use this to cover the costs of their next major fundraising event. The Satellite group meet in the evenings once a month and are looking for new members that want to give a few hours a month to support an array of local charities and fundraising initiatives.
